He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward and Lydia Bellamey (Handley); his son Johnnie Ray Phillips; and his siblings, Ellen Strassman, Donald Bellamey and Robert Bellamey.
He is survived by: his wife Flora Allis Bellamey (Simpson); and his children, Angie Armstrong (Thomas) of Tucson, AZ, Terri Green (Dave) of Indianapolis, IN, Kevin Bellamey of Indianapolis, IN, Gordon Bellamey (Carol) of Georgetown, IN, Dan Bellamey of Christopher and Dallis Bellamey of Zeigler. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
The family requests no flowers and that memorials can be made to the Southern Illinois Honor Flight, 10400 Terminal Drive, Suite 200, Marion, IL 62959.
