He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lee Dorris Sr. and Barb Palmer (Bowers); his stepfather Charlie Palmer; and his parents-in-law, Cecil Grove and Lucill Grove.
He is survived by: his wife Windie Dorris (Grove) of Christopher; his children, Amanda Whitmer II (James) of Christopher, Chelsea Dorris of Christopher, Breanna Dorris (David) of Christopher and Chris Dorris (Sasha Ladd) of Christopher; his grandchildren, Brenden Whitmer, Elise Whitmer, Nora Sisney, Riley Redding, Bailey Redding, Aubrey Redding and Desmond Dorris; and his sister Tammy DeSpain (David) of Thompsonville. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
