He was predeceased by: his parents, Van Z. Smith and Alice H. Smith (Kitzmiller); and his daughter Lynn Turner. He is survived by: his wife Eleanor (Hall); his sons, Michael Smith (Marci) of Chillicothe, IL, David Smith (Pam) of Centennial, CO and Stephen Smith of Chillicothe, IL; and his sisters, Carmen Biddison and Rosie Boyer. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials in Russell's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
