He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Dolores Campbell; his wife Rita Flener; his children, Nikki Koch of West Branch, IA, Jamie Schuur of Cedar Rapids, IA and Michael Winters of Chillicothe, IL; and his grandchildren, Maddyson Koch, Ricki, Michael, Cory and Coralee Winters. He was also cherished by three brothers.

Memorials in his name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
