We are sad to announce that on December 15, 2023, at the age of 89, Edward C. Payne of Chillicothe, Illinois, born in Lafayette, Indiana passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Edward C. Payne to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Payne and Mary Payne (Clemens). He is survived by: his wife Joyce A. Birdsell; his children, Jeff Payne (Darlene) of East Peoria, Jaris Scherer (Brian) of Chillicothe and Joe Payne of Chillicothe; his grandchildren, Aaron Payne (Meuy), Hannah Canales (Steve) and Zachary Scherer; and his siblings, Marlene Kent of Chillicothe, Sandy Dunn of Texas, Nancy Wilson of Peoria and Tom Payne (Nancy) of Lacon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials in his name may be made to the Chillicothe Community Fire Protection District.
