He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence William and Margaret Loise Sefried (Reed); his stepson Gary Childs; and his siblings, Clarence "Joe" Sefried, Jr., Mary Foster and Shirley Owens.
He is survived by: his wife Marjorie Ann Meinen; his sons, Richard Sefried (Julie) of Galesburg, IL and Ronald Sefried (Pat) of Pekin, IL; and his stepdaughter Julie Childs (Lenore) of Andover, MN. He is also survived by six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials in Don's name may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church, the Blue Ridge Cemetery Association or the Bradley University John I. Meinen Athletic Endowment Fund.
