It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Zlata Zakic (Chicago, Illinois), who passed away on December 28, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Zlata's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Zlata has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her spouse Mato Zakic; her sibling Stefica Fijacko (late Jure); and also Dagica Ilijas (late Milan). She is survived by: her son Steve Zakic (Theresa); her grandson Anthony Zakic; and her sibling Milica Filor (late Manfred).
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Foran Funeral Home - Summit (7300 W Archer Ave, Summit, IL 60501). A prayer was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A Mass was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Faustina Kowalska Parish (5251 S McVicker Ave, Chicago, IL 60638).
