He was predeceased by: his parents, William F. McGrath and Jean R. McGrath; and his brother Michael. He is survived by: his siblings, Peggy Carey (Tim), Jeanne Marion (Jim) and William McGrath (Kim); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Gabrielle Botica, Alice, Teddy, Rosie Thatcher, Ellie Marion, Brendan, Lucas Dominick and Mallory Marciano.

Visitation was held on Friday, October 18th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Christ the King Church (9235 S Hamilton Ave, Chicago, IL 60643). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, October 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Memorials to Christ the King School Foundation or the Loyola University Medical Center Burn Center, 2160 S. First Ave., Maywood, IL 60153, are most appreciated.
