He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Ruth; his children, RJ Light, Charlene Ertl (Tim), Michelle Sullivan and Shelby Light; his stepchildren, Anthony Petoske (Michelle), Terence Petoske (Jennifer) and Alisha Petoske; his grandchildren, Stephanie Light, Isabelle Felkamp (Tony), Amber, Justin Ertl, Julian Petoske (Octavia), Duncan Petoske (Emma), Dylan Hammett, Maddie McFarthing, Joshua, Bruce, Lincoln Petoske, Noah, Vinny and Melody Mendoza; and his great grandchildren, Timothy, Marlie, Brody, Auggie and Marnie.

Visitation was held on Friday, October 18th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moody Church (1635 N La Salle Dr, Chicago, IL 60614). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, October 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
