He was predeceased by: his wife Irena. He is survived by: his children, Helen Chyterbok (Walter), Danuta Tech (Ihor Turkalo) and Peter Szelemej (Mariola); his grandchildren, Andrew, Tanya, Sonia and Paulina; and his great grandchildren, James, Owen, Leah, Melania and Jeremy, Jr..
