We are sad to announce that on April 8, 2025, at the age of 106, Opal May Snyder in Chicago, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Francis; her son Frank; and her mother Jessie Zimmerman. She is survived by: her children, Ethel Ellen Buckalew, Margie Dubnansky (Paul), Pat Deskin (Skip) and Dave Snyder; her grandchildren, Tricia Leigh (Jason), Ryan (Orbe), Kyle, Jeffrey, Andrew, Lindsay (Charles), Bill (Juli), Catherine (Jason) and Maisie; and her great grandchildren, Emma, Anna, Andrew, Matthew, Tripp, Camille, Coco, Lexi, Elias, Joshua and Elizabeth.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Christian Church (314 E 2nd St N, Newton, IA 50208). A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Chistian Church (314 E 2nd St N, Newton, IA 50208). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (300 E Rosemary St, Chapel Hill, NC 27514).
