Olga Gawaluch Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Olga Gawaluch (Chicago, Illinois), who passed away on March 31, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Walter; her parents, John Hnatiuk and Mary Hnatiuk; her siblings, Albert Natick (late Lois), Peter Hnatiuk (late Marian) and Shirley Peterson (late Wayne); and her siblings-in-law, Mae Kuzma (late George), Anne Sawkiw (late Walter) and Steve Gawaluch (late Jessie).

She is survived by: her children, Walter Gawaluch (Eileen), Larry Gawaluch and Deborah Marinoff (Donald); her siblings, Betty Jean Jachniw (late Paul), Margaret Pergande (late Earl) and Walter Hnatiuk; her grandchildren, Jason Gawaluch (Dena), Jillian Marinoff, Rachel Marinoff and Timothy Marinoff (Amber); and her great grandchildren, Nicholas, Kaitlin, Quinn, Teagan and Baby Boy Marinoff.

Viewing was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Ukrainian Catholic Church (5000 N Cumberland Ave, Chicago, IL 60656). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at the St. Nicholas Cemetery (8901 W Higgins Ave, Chicago, IL 60656).
