He was predeceased by: his grandson Michael Karlson; his siblings, Margaret Holmstrom, Helen Hand and Arthur Salentiny; his father Joseph (Christine); and his wife Lorraine Eberwein of Mary's Church.
He is survived by: his children, Joanne Karlson (Knute J.) and James Salentiny (Monica); his grandchildren, Eric, Dale, Derek and Mark; and his great grandchildren, Katie, Archer, Harlan, Layla, Noah and Cooper.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home (6150 N Cicero Ave, Chicago, IL 60646). A prayer was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 at 9:15 AM at the same location. A Mass was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Holy Child Jesus Parish (2324 W Chase Ave, Chicago, IL 60645). A graveside service was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the All Saints Catholic Cemetery (700 N River Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60016).
