He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Fidelia Herrera; and his children, Diana Zizumbo, Misty Zizumbo, Elva Valdez (Francisco), Gabriela Martinez (Andres), Susana Gonzalez (Manuel), Maricela Montero (Alex) and Ruben Herrera (Dina).

A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 11:30 AM at the St. Gall Church (5500 S Kedzie Ave, Chicago, IL 60629).
