He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Janell Wilson of Patrick's Day; his parents, James "Jim" Wilson and Elizabeth "Betsy" Wilson; his siblings, Jessie and Bethany Wilson; his siblings-in-law, David, Deirdre Picchietti, Scott and Kima Picchietti; his nieces and nephews, Micah, Gavin, Nolan (Kristie), Alex (Carly), Sam (Carlie), Connor (Isabella) and Nick (Alline); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Makenzie, Averie, Natalie, Jonah, Charlie, Nello and Naomi; his cousin Bo Wilson; and his close friends, Mark Stiglitz, Ryan Burt and Jim Kramer.

Visitation was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Drake and Son Funeral Home (5303 N Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60625). A memorial service was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the Graceland Cemetery (4001 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60613).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Northwestern Memorial Foundation in memory of Jim Wilson, your gift will support lung cancer research under the direction of Dr. Jyoti Patel, or Rainbow Hospice Ark.
