He was predeceased by: his parents, James Cahill and Ann Cahill; and his siblings, John Francis, Frank (Pat) and Mary Green (late Tom).

He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his daughters, Maureen Fitzsimons (late Tom), Susan Sullivan (Joe) and Peggy Donovan (Dave); his grandchildren, Tommy, Fiona Fitzsimons, Hugh, Quinn, Emmett Sullivan, Michael, Ryan, Emma and Kevin Donovan; and his siblings, Jerome (Rosemary), Mary Ann Dotson (Bill) and Phil.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Misericordia Home, 6300 N Ridge Ave, Chicago, IL 60660.
