He was predeceased by: his spouse Nancy. He is survived by: his children, Jackie, Glenn (Debra), Kevin (Mary Gau) and Rob (Dru Orenstein); and his grandchildren, Cora Glazer and Levi Orenstein-Wolf.

Donations in his memory may be sent to the American Civil Liberties Union, the Southern Poverty Law Center, Planned Parenthood, or the Selfhelp Home in Chicago.
