It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald J. Van Overbeek O. S. A. (Chicago, Illinois), who passed away on January 1, 2019, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Kathleen Overbeek and John C. Van Overbeek; and his siblings, Vincent "Jack" Phillips (Jean), Ronald Grant (Joan) and Richard Grant (Susan).

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Augustinians, 5401 S. Cornell Ave., Chicago, IL 60615- 5664 to support care of elderly friars and seminary formation of young friars appreciated.
