Doris Gipson Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Doris Gipson (Chicago, Illinois), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 26, 2024 at the age of 72. She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Kara and Irene Kara (Kujawa); her spouse Guthrie "Chick" Gipson; her child Jerrilynn Tackett; her stepdaughters, Connie Hilliard (Bill) and Evelyn Bell; and her sisters, Jeanette Burnett (Jerry), Alberta Welch (Buzzie), Judy Schallmo (Ronnie), Norma Bickford, Rose Kara (late Ed) and Debbie Diaz.

She is survived by: her children, Matthew Kara (Chantel), Troy Kara (April), Irene Gipson (Louis) and Krystal Gipson (Rob); her sibling Jackie French (late Don); her nieces and nephews, Michelle and Lynn Kara; her godson Robert Kara; and her sister-in-law Mary Luna. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McInerney Central Chapel (4635 S Wallace St, Chicago, IL 60609).
