With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dennis J. Gaydos of Chicago, Illinois, born in Streator, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 12, 2024 at the age of 85. He was predeceased by: his parents, John L. Gaydos and Emma M. Gaydos (Majernik); and his grandchildren, Stephen Gaydos and Karla Huffman. He is survived by: his wife Sharon E. Underwood of Stephen's Church; his children, Russell Gaydos (Ruth) of Minnesota, Michael Gaydos (Tammy) of Texas, Theresa Fowler of Texas, Melissa Nosal (Dan) of Illinois, Kevin Gaydos (Shannon) of Illinois and Elizabeth Gaydos of Illinois; his grandchildren, Cynthia Beamer (Kevin) of Wisconsin, Andrew Gaydos (Sonya) of Minnesota, Josh Gaydos of Texas, William Gaydos of Tennessee, Emily Gaydos of Texas, Kristin Fortner (Jeff) of Texas, Stephanie McMillen of Texas, Kaitlyn and Abby Nosal of Illinois; and his great grandchildren, Jacob, Sophie of Wisconsin, Eleanor, Matilda, Bernadette of Minnesota, Mason, Luka, Lexton, Logan, Colin, McKenzie and Katelynn of Texas.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church (407 S Park St, Streator, IL 61364).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) in Dennis' memory.
