He was predeceased by: his spouse Charlot A. Richards; his great grandchild Baby Jack; his siblings, Harry Richards (late Sue) and Dorothy Hansen (late Robert); and his siblings-in-law, Edward Walsh (Terry) and Erin Kelly (Dan).

He is survived by: his children, Paul Richards (Rachel), Beth Callaghan (Dan), Emily Nolan, Bill Richards, Charlotte Davoren, Nancy Quinn (Brian) and Matt Richards (Gayle); his grandchildren, Amanda, Max, Colin, Sarah, Kasey, Sean, Kira, Noah, Henry, Natalie, Miles, Jacob and Charlotte; and his great grandchildren, Daelynn, Kevin, Charlie, Lennix, William, Emerson, Elliott, Eddie and Koda.

Visitation was held on Saturday, March 9th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Cajetan Church (2445 W 112th St, Chicago, IL 60655). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, March 9th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, March 9th 2024 at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery (6001 W 111th St, Alsip, IL 60803).
