He was predeceased by: his spouse Carmina; his parents, Giuseppe Planera and Teresa; and his brothers, Cesare Planera (Cesarina), Raymond Planera (Mary), Mario Planera, Tommaso Planera (Eva) and Eugene Planera (Gisa).

He is survived by: his children, Rosemary Borrelli (Sam), Josephine Adduci (Robert) and Livia Faso (Phil); his grandchildren, Stephanie Sonntag (Jeff), Gabriella Baker (Grant), Samuel Borrelli (Emily), Joseph Borrelli (Catherine), Robert Adduci (Brittney), Andrea Popovich (Dillon), Lauren (Eric Mitchell), Phillip and Bianca Faso; his sisters, Mary Pongelli (late Joseph), Anna Panici (late Ettore) and Assunta "Sue" Grilli (late Joseph); and his uncle Zi'Livio. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Livio's name to San Rocco Oratory, would be appreciated by his family.
