He was predeceased by: his parents, Myron Gahr and Ruth Gahr (Ewin); his son John Matthew Gahr; and his siblings, Gwen Stayton, JoAnn Scarborough and George Gahr.
He is survived by: his wife Kay Gahr of Chesterfield, IL; his children, Polly Gahr of Springfield, IL and Andrew Gahr (Gretchen) of Chesterfield, IL; and his siblings, Karolyn Frye of Chandler, AZ and John Gahr (Susan) of Afton, TX. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
