It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard L. Hohgrefe of Chester, Illinois, who passed away on June 24, 2020, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugo Hohgrefe and Margaret Zimmer Hohgrefe; and his siblings, Ruth Lawless and Robert Hohgrefe. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Hohgrefe of Chester; his sons, Jonathan Hohgrefe (Becky) of Belleville, IL and James Hohgrefe (Jamie) of Baldwin, IL; his grandchildren, Suzanna BeDell (Klint), Deanna Hohgrefe, Landon Hohgrefe, Dakota Hohgrefe and Seth Hohgrefe; his great grandchild Brookelee BeDell; and his sisters, June James of Chester and Marcella Kontz of Chester. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, private service will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, Bremen, with Rev. Dr. Edwin W. Reuter officiating.
Memorials may be given to St. John's Lutheran Cemetery Trust Fund or St. John's Lutheran Church Organ Fund.
