He was predeceased by: his mother Fannie Mae King; and his siblings, Henry, Susie May and Walter. He is survived by: his wife Louella Simmons of Phoenix, AZ; his sons, Christopher Simmons, Sr. of Phoenix, AZ, Michael Marach of Eugene, OR and Jesse Mayfield of Louisville, KY; his stepdaughter Velester Grant (Michael) of Phoenix, AZ; his grandchild Seventeen; and his sister Tommie Lee Bailey of St. Louis, MO. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Sparta to help with funeral expenses.
