He was predeceased by: his parents, Renwick A. Smith and Ella I. Smith; and his brother-in-law Phil Gulick. He is survived by: his son Clinton Smith Salt (Jill); his close friend Ruth Ann Welge Chester; his siblings, Barbara Gulick West, Rita Heinze (Richard "Dick"), Renwick "Butch" Smith St (Marty), Janet Smith and Ruma; and his grandchildren, Miren, Ethan and Griffin Smith.
