She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilfred Thummel and Odilia Thummel; her stepfather Andrew Surman, Jr.; her son John Hanger, Sr.; her stepbrother Dennis Surman; and her children-in-law, Debbie Hanger and Todd Loos.
She is survived by: her husband Lenard Hanger Chester; her children, Richard, Robert Hanger Sparta, Debra and Susan Loucks Chester; and her stepsiblings, Ronald (Betty), Roger, Bill, Kenneth Surman Chester (Connie) and Patti Brown St (Marion). She is also survived by her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Mary's Catholic School, St. Mary's Catholic Church or St. Louis Children's Hospital and memorials are being accepted at Pechacek Funeral.
