He was predeceased by: his parent Merle Godwin; his grandparents, Arvel, Virgie Womack, Melvin and Essie Godwin; and his stepfather Homer Essex.
He is survived by: his mother Hazel Essex; his stepmother Sue; his children, Annie and Ashley; his siblings, Janetta, Katherine, Craig and Shawn (Jennifer); his aunts, Ilene Nipper and Dorothy; and his grandchildren, Madison and Lexie. He is also survived by Many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins.
Memorials may be made to a cancer foundation of the donor's choice and are being accepted at Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester, Illinois.
