He was predeceased by: his parents, Ewald Malert and Kate Malert (Garske); his significant other Sandie Overman; his brother Joseph Malert; his sister-in-law Marie Malert; and his friend Jimmy.
He is survived by: his significant other Cheryl Johnson; his siblings, Ingrid Davis, Gary Malert, Ed Malert (Jeannie), Rudy Malert (Suzette) and Erich Malert (Janice Bass); his nieces and nephews, Austen Davis (Hannah), Lindsay Aspengren (Dan), Mac Davis, Joey Malert and Dakota Malert; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jennifer Hollenback (Tony), Matthew Hoffman (Scott Rusch), Christopher Johnson (Jennifer), Kevin Johnson (Aubrey) and Kate Ford (Levi). He is also survived by numerous cousins in Germany, and his many friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Turner-Eighner Funeral Home - Plano (3952 Turner Ave, Plano, IL 60545). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
