He was predeceased by: his parents, Thorvald Olson and Helen Olson (Norem); and his siblings, Nevina Monsen, Alice Nordstrom, Jean Frye, Otto Hagen, Thorvald Olson, Jr. and Herbert Olson.
He is survived by: his wife Betty; his daughters, Tanya Bender (Mark), Nancy Yehling and Karen Sletten (Paul); his grandchildren, Alexeus Bender, Sarah Schackelton (James), Sheila, Nadia Bender, Sedona, Jude, Willem, Rhys Yehling, Jackson, Franklin and George Sletten; his great grandchildren, Aurora, True and Piper Schackelton; and his sisters-in-law, Nonie Olson and Pauline Olson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
