He was predeceased by: his parents, Preston Byford and Dorothy Mae Byford (Wandless); his wife Sharon Nelson; his stepfather James Vining; and his daughter Chris Bissey.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Chourinard (Thomas), Kankakee, Cindy Goodlick of Florence, KY and Wayne Vining of Chenoa; and his siblings, Sharon Hill (Mark) of Dwight, Adele Chaplin of Sandwich and Austin Vining (Sue) of Essex. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
