He is survived by: his sons, John Thomas Owen III (Jodie) and Floyd Gregory Owen; and his sisters, Pamela Rae Owen Telger (Gary), Barbara Lorraine Owen Sibert (Michael), Deborah Sue Owen Markowitz and Susan Ann Owen Brown. He is also survived by two nieces; and seven nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause John felt strongly about.
