It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vesta Jane Kelley of Charleston, Illinois, born in Brocton, Illinois, who passed away on October 8, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles William and Mildred Marie Gough (Curry); her husbands, Louis Frank Getche and Dick Kelley; her brother John Gough; and her brother-in-law Robert Landes.
She is survived by: her children, Susan Lyn Getche Butler (Danny) of Lerna, Mary Elise Getche Hood of Ashmore and John Charles Getche (Tanya) of Kansas; her siblings, Ned Gough (Sherri) of Brocton and Mary Helen Landes of Marion, Illinois; and her grandchildren, Chad Butler (Lisa), Joshua Butler (Kiley), Cody Hood (Kaycee), Betsy Flynn (Doug), Billie Getche (Cora), Emma Rhoads (Ross) and Brandon Getche. She is also survived by twelve great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
For those who wish, Vesta's family suggests that memorials be made to Fairview Cemetery in Kansas, Carle Hospice, or the Edgar or Coles County Animal Shelters.
