He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman E. Buell and Gladys Buell (Glosser); and his brothers, Rick Buell and Jon Buell. He is survived by: his wife Beverly; his children, Becky Carter (Ed) of Charleston and Doug Buell (Andrea) of Charleston; his grandchildren, Josh Carter (Misty, J.), Amber King (Jared) and Seth Thomas Buell (Kayla); and his brother Ronnie Buell of Charleston.

Memorial donations in his honor may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
