He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Roy Forrester and Audie Wheaton; his wife Ruth "Marie" Forrester; his daughters, Sandra Frieders (Scott), Patricia Monshau (Donald) and Lynda Flatness (Jerry); his grandchildren, Samantha Harrison, Kristen Demonte (Nick), J. D. Monshau (Kelsey), Clayton Flatness (Madilyn Smith) and Connor Flatness; and his great grandchildren, Lily Harrison, Owen Demonte, Austin Demonte, Brantley Monshau, Barrett Monshau and Margaret "Daisy" Monshau.

“Marie and daughters and family. I was a few months younger than Gary. Last saw at function for Neal Forrester in Baroda , Mi I have pictures. When young played with Gary. I remember his Grandma he stayed with in Arkansas when we were quite young. I thought of Gary often and Marie. He was my first cousin I remember. May God give you peace and love. Gary was a special person to all who knew him.”
