He was predeceased by: his parents, Eldon Hammond and Hazel Hammond; his stepmother Ruth Hammond; his grandparents, Roll and Mayme Hammond; his daughter-in-law Patricia Hammond; his sisters, Janet Raehal and Carol Moon; his parents-in-law, George and Melba Dobler; and his siblings-in-law, Bob Scott and Carol Crews.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou; his children, Robert Hammond (Carol Lazarski), Karen Buchanan (DeWitt) and Proud; his grandchildren, Melinda Chiapello (Jeff), Christopher Hammond (Megan), Benjamin Hammond (Sheila) and Victoria Hammond; his great grandchildren, Levi, Zeke, Addison and Avery; his siblings, Tom Hammond (Martha), Sally Edwards (Mike) and Fond; and his siblings-in-law, Richard Scott, David Dobler (Cindy) and Numerous. He is also survived by Numerous Nieces, Nephews.
Due to health concerns in light of Covid-19, the Hammond family has Chosen to plan a Memorial Service in the future to properly celebrate Gene's life at a time when it is safe for all to gather.
