With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Serie Carter of Champaign, Illinois, born in Bolton, Mississippi, who passed away on September 29, 2020 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Percy Carter and Eunice Carter (Brown); his wife Ada Marie Jones; his siblings, Noah Carter, John Carter and Dora Stewart; and his niece Delores "Dee" Young.
He is survived by: his sons, Joe Carter (Renea) of Fisher, IL and Brian Carter of Champaign; his siblings, Robert Carter (Dorothy) of Urbana, Charlie Carter (Frankie) of Killen, Texas, Iona C. Veal of Jackson, Mississippi., Bernice Pennington of Jackson, Mississippi. and Mary Simmons (Willie) of Jackson, Mississippi.; and his grandchildren, Brian, Antonio, Korey, Terrelle, Kiarra of Champaign, Maiyann of Champaign, Ashiya of Champaign and Jarai Carter of Champaign. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
