Senator Scott Bennett Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Senator Scott Bennett of Champaign, Illinois, who passed away on December 9, 2022, at the age of 45, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Charlene Bennett, Marge Barry and Lee Barry; his uncle Dennis Barry; his cousin Crystal Barry; and his mother-in-law Mardelle Meredith.

He is survived by: his parents, Dr. Robert and Barbara Bennett; his children, Scott and Stacy; his brother Rob Bennett; his sister-in-law Mabruka Yazidi; his niece Naima Yazidi-Bennett; his aunts and uncles, Tom, Doug Bennett, Carol Bennett-Barker, Wanda Driscoll and Carol Sanecki; his father-in-law Bill Meredith; and his pet Betty White. He is also survived by his wife and children, parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Scott's memory to CU Able or the Champaign Urbana Autism Network, causes Scott had planned to focus on in the upcoming legislative session.
