He was predeceased by: his parents, Delmar Wilken and Phyllis Wilken. He is survived by: his wife Lois; his sons, Tyler (Tina Marie) of Tucson, AZ and Zachary (Grace) of Urbana, IL; and his sisters, Lyndell Wilken of Eugene, OR and Mylla Hunter of Santa Fe, NM..
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Grace Lutheran Church (313 S Prospect Ave, Champaign, IL 61820). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
When Royce retired, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the maritime industry from the Seaman's Church Institute. His final honor was the christening of the MV Royce Wilken line boat, which can be seen navigating the waters of the Mississippi River!In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Grace Lutheran Church Food Pantry and the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge in St. Louis, MO.
