She was predeceased by: her parents, Camille Fourez Jr. and Ruby Chitwood; her son Glen Dale Myers; her daughters-in-law, Lynn Yeazel Myers and Marie Myers; and her siblings, Fred Fourez, Doris Musson and Flora Kay Martin.
She is survived by: her husband Dale E. Myers; her children, Robert Myers and Karen Hager (Joey); her grandchildren, Kristina Mitchell (Jay) and Justin Hager; her stepgrandsons, Robert Turkowiecz and Mark Turkowiecz; and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Jacqueline Mitchell and Jacob.
Memorials to celebrate Vernell's life may be sent to First United Methodist Church in Champaign, Illinois and/or Parkland College Foundation in Champaign, Illinois.
