He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Jeffers and Fannie Jeffers (Carr); his former wife Flora Birlingmair; his wife Maxine Dodd; and his siblings, Harold Jeffers and Patty Gadeken.

He is survived by: his children, Diane Jeffers of Champaign, Jim Jeffers (Dee) of Mahomet and Dawn Jeffers-Borski (Roland Bailey) of Indianapolis; and his grandchildren, Dustin Jeffers (Nikki) of Chicago, Joshua Jeffers (Macy) of Mahomet, Kolby Jeffers (Jenna) of Mahomet and Jourdann Barnes (Nick) of Indianapolis. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
