He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Gaines and Thelma Gaines (Henderson); his wife Marcella Ann Gaines; and his daughters, Marcia Gaines and Angela Schoonover.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Toni Brooks, Christopher Schoonover (Ashleigh), Julie Hulse (Rick), Hayze Schoonover, Trent, Paige, Kileigh, Ryker, Elizabeth, Marshall and Phynix. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
