It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Smith (Champaign, Illinois), who passed away on October 3, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Smith and Inez Smith; his sister Patricia Ann Kirk (Paul); and his granddaughter Mary Ann Smith. He is survived by: his wife Florene Smith (Johnson) of Mary's Catholic Church; his children, Michael (Linda) of Canon City, CO, Stephen (Pirie) of Grand Junction, CO, Norman of Champaign, Gretchen Pierce (Fred) of Grand Junction, CO, Thomas (Kenneth) of Chicago, IL, John (Carol) of Champaign and Rebecca Meyerholtz (Keith) of Grand Junction, CO.; his grandchildren, Eric, Rachel, Santiago, Margaret, Sean, Joshua, Jessica, Savannah, Michelle and Jacob; and his great grandchildren, Rose, Ayana, Lexie, Cutter, Zayn and Zahra.
