David Robert Phillips Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of David Robert Phillips in Champaign, Illinois, born in Springfield, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 6, 2025 at the age of 96. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles E. Phillips, Sr. and Juanita Goodlow-Overton; his sisters, Esther Phillips-Kemp and Alma Phillips-Jackson; his son Craig; and his great great grandchild Isaiah.
He is survived by: his brothers, Charles E. Phillips, Jr. and Richard Phillips; his daughter Debrae A. Lomax; his adoptive daughter Melva Jean Phillips; his children, Courtney, Corey, Scott and Brent; his granddaughters, Jacqueline Y. Brown, Anita J. Lomax (Curtis) and Kimberly Lomax Cobb (Turance); his great grandchildren, Trinity Holloway (Paryon), Astriana Steele David Wilson (Paris Chevelle), Leon C. Lomax and Simone G. Lomax; his great great grandchildren, Naiomi, Milani, Zurie, Mila and Myka; his pets, Mona Renee, Miss Dom Monroe, Louis, Coco and Kiki; his aunt Virginia Banks; his son-in-law Tommy; and also Nelson Court.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Leek & Sons Funeral Home (1215 W Bradley Ave, Urbana, IL 61801). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, April 21st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the West Ridge Park Cemetery (9295 W 21st St, Indianapolis, IN 46234).
