It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Celene Smith of Champaign, Illinois, born in Nokomis, Illinois, who passed away on October 6, 2021, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Francis and Marcella Margaret Aylward (Doughtery); her husband Myron Blaine Smith; her great grandchild Olin Smith; and her siblings, Edwin Aylward, Leon Aylward, Arthur Aylward, Eugene Aylward, Rosemary Morris and Anna Lorraine Aylward.

She is survived by: her children, Anthony Edward Smith (Dee), Richard Alan Smith (Nancy), Dennis James Smith (Beverly) and Alice Jean Taylor; and her sister Loretta Kibler. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made in Celene's name to the NICU unit of Carle Hospital.
