She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald E. Newman and Helen E. Newman (Schackmann); and her brothers, Kenneth J. Newman and Michael A. Newman. She is survived by: her daughter Paula M. Deck (Scott) of Urbana, IL; her husband Darrell R. Gerald; her son Jeff Gerald Bloomington (Katie) of Bloomington, IL.; her grandchildren, Emily Holben (Gary), Allison Deck and Linus Gerald; and her siblings, Dennis Newman (Sharon) of Columbus, IN and Julie LaPayne (Brad) of Champaign, IL. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Owens Funeral Home (101 N Elm St, Champaign, IL 61820). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Cross Catholic Church (403 W Clark St, Champaign, IL 61820).
