He was predeceased by: his parents, William Shaffer, II and Ricky Sue Robinett (Casner); his stepfather Darrell Robinett; and his sister Lynette Smith. He is survived by: his former wife Janet Hammond; his wife Patricia Shaffer of Centralia; his children, Hillery Hammond-Santiago (Efrain) of Central City and Tyler Shaffer of Central City; his grandson Ezra Quino of Central City; his stepchildren, Cameron Reynolds of Centralia, James Wadley of Richview, Valerie Reynolds of Centralia and Andrea Wadley of Murphysboro; and his brother Terry Knolhoff of St. Louis, Missouri. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
