He was predeceased by: his parents, Van Murphy and Lillie Murphy (Diamond); his former wife Kathy Murphy (Moore); his daughter Lisa Murphy; and his siblings, Beverly Williams, Sandra Kay Murphy, Bill Murphy and Don Murphy.
He is survived by: his wife Hanna Murphy (Nelson); his son Thomas Murphy, Jr. (Stephanie) of Simpsonville, SC; his stepdaughter Nicole Panek (Matthew Gibson) of Centralia; his grandchildren, Gavin Murphy of Simpsonville, SC, Taylor Middleton (Harley) of Centralia, Alex Bauer of Mt. Vernon, Sophie Bauer of Mt. Vernon and Jayden Bauer of Mt. Vernon; his great grandchild Clemintine Middleton; and his sisters, Debbie Sinclair of Walnut Hill, Rhonda Mayer (Larry) of Centralia and Michele McNish of Odin. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In memory of Tom, memorial donations may be made to the American Legion Post 446 in Centralia and will be accepted by the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 North Sycamore Street in Centralia, Illinois 62801, who is honored to be of service to the Murphy family.
