She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Groff and Fern Groff (Kretzer); her husband Ronald Lewis Schmitz; her siblings, Lettle Benjamin, Monzela Dane and Ray Groff Jr.; and her son George Albert Jr..
She is survived by: her son Ralph Dean Jones Sr. (Stacey Waddell); her grandchildren, Ralph Jones Jr., Thomas Jones, Phylicia and Jeffrey Jones; her stepgrandchildren, Jonathan Waddell and Nicole Unsell (Tiffany); her brother David Groff; her niece Malissa Benjamin; and her great-niece Makylie Benjamin. She is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, special cousins, and loyal friends.
