James McKee Obituary

It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved James McKee of Centralia, Illinois, who passed away at the age of 93, on January 17, 2021. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles McKee and Carrie McKee (Webster); his wife Gwyneth "Gwen" McKee; his sons, Mark Alan James McKee and John Richard Poland; his sisters, Mary Elizabeth Cox and Joan Bozett; and his brother-in-law John Bozett.

He is survived by: his children, Kimberly Anne Baugh (Russ) of Edwardsville and Scott Kenneth Poland (Cindy) of Knoxville, Tennessee; and his daughter-in-law Ada Poland of Fayetteville, Arkansas. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the James McKee Scholarship Fund at Kaskaskia College and/or Marion Medical Mission and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home and Cremation Services at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, (618) 532-3523, whom is honored to be of service to the McKee Family.

“Sorry to learn of Jim's death. He was the last of his generation in the McKee family. My mother Ruth and her sister Anne were his first cousins, and my grandfather Amos must have looked after him like a son. I went to Centralia as a kid with my grandfather and would always visit Aunt Carrie and Aunt Edna. Best wishes, Paul Gifford.”
